DFL state Sen. Kelly Morrison to run for Minnesota congressional seat held by Dean Phillips

A high-ranking Democratic state senator announced Thursday she will run for the Minnesota congressional seat held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips, who's running for president.

Assistant Senate Majority Leader Kelly Morrison, who's a practicing OB-GYN, helped lead state legislative efforts to protect abortion rights for both Minnesotans and people who travel here to get the procedure. Now, the Democrat from Deephaven said she's ready to take that fight to the Republican-controlled U.S. House.

She will get my vote, and Don Samuels, challenging Omar again, will get my contribution.

1. I'd vote for Morrison if I lived in that district; I'll send her a few bucks instead,

and, btw, fuck Dean Phillips - such a disappointment. I'm in CD 5 so I'll vote for Samuels (again); kinda had it with Omar's grandstanding and unnecessary controversies.

and former governor Dayton.

I was at a local DFL event Saturday evening and the people were pretty happy about her running.
