question everything

If yesterday were the general elections Trump would have won Minnesota. No, not the "uncommitted,"

but the ones that stayed home.

Quick look shows Republicans got around 330,000 votes, while Democrats - 230,000.

I can see why many figured that Biden would win the primaries and stayed home, but Omar (and Rashid) better start explaining to their constituents what a Trump regime will mean to Muslim citizens.

ballot. This was also our first go-round with a presidential primary. I find these numbers neither unsurprising nor worrisome.

CD5 knows exactly what a Trump presidency means. We all do. We lived through it for four years.

Trump won by a mile but Haley was still a highly-visible option.

No one is taking Phillips or Williamson seriously, not even in Phillips' own state.

I don't think we can learn much from the results, though I do agree that it will soon be time for everyone to rally behind the president.

I just wanted to give someone other than trump my vote this time around. Biden for sure in the fall. I have a feeling a lot of people around here did the same thing.

which this really was on the Dem side. There was never any question that Biden would win it, and the only people who cared about "sending a message" with their votes were those, mostly in the 5th CD, who were voting performatively to protest the situation in Gaza. I doubt those will be Trump voters, and now that the choice is binary most will understand staying home benefits Trump, and he would be far worse for Gaza and for them. On the GOP side despite TFG's dominance it wasn't a truly uncontested primary, and although Haley's chances were slim they weren't zero - she did win DC and Vermont, after all. And maybe the knuckle-dragging red-hats Up North wanted to defeat Haley once and for all.

Actually, I did vote in the primary in part to send a message - to Dean Phillips. I hope he got it.

8. Question for a Minnesotan: was the presidential primary the only thing on the ballot?

Here in CA we had city council, state assembly, county DA, and lots of other reasons to vote aside from the presidential primary.

9. Yes. This was only the presidential primary.

You were given a ballot with only the names of the candidates running for president in that party. So it was Biden, Williamson, Phillips, Uncommitted and a half-dozen names I'd never heard of. There will be a party primary in August to choose candidates for other offices.

You never want the word uncommitted attached to your party or your candidates. JFC, we have absolutely ZERO marketing sense!!

From the internet:

The uncommitted vote is also on the Democratic ballot in Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, North Carolina and Tennessee.

The herds just want Trump. They don't care of any policy, or ideas, or - god helps us - character. They like his vulgarity, his name calling and his desire for revenge.
