Wetterling suspect leads officials to unidentified remains

Patty Wetterling says it's Jacob.

Authorities recovered unidentified remains this week after Danny Heinrich, a suspect in the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling, agreed to cooperate and provide information, according to authorities.

KSTP first reported that the remains were found at an undisclosed location in central Minnesota and that DNA tests are currently being conducted to determine if they are the boy's remains.

"Our hearts are broken. We have no words," Patty Wetterling, Jacob's mother, texted to the Star Tribune.

She later told KARE 11 Saturday morning that Jacob's remains have been found. "All I can confirm is that Jacob has been found and our hearts are broken. I am not responding to any media yet as I have no words."

While I'm sure none of us are surprised to hear this I have to admit the finality of it still made me feel like crying. Knowing is better but it still must be so terrible for his family.
