strange reasons for endorsements

The neighborhood paper - Sun Sailor - endorsed Bonoff for the Third, because she is not "Washington establishment."

The Strib endorsed Paul Andersen for Senate 44 because he will provide a "moderate Republican" voice.

Huh?

This has been a Democratic seat for many years - Bonoff - so why give it to a Republican? And I am not sure how "moderate" he is.

Might as well flip a coin.

No surprises, though that the Strib endorsed Paulsen for the Third.. after praising Bonoff.

Oh well. At least they endorsed Angie Craig and Nolan.

They said nice things about the DFLer running against Paul Andersen and to endorse Andersen for just for being a "moderate Republican" made not sense. News flash - he may be moderate, but as long as the Teabaggers control the Republican party, he'll go along with their extremism, or pay the the price next time he tries to get their endorsement.

On the other hand, I was amazed when the Sun endorsed Bonoff.
