Trump supporters want Woody Kaine prosecuted (Sen. Tim Kaine's son)
On Saturday, Republicans and organizers of a March 4 rally in support of President Donald Trump called on Ramsey County and St. Paul city officials to prosecute six protesters who disrupted the rally, including Woody Kaine, the son of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine.
The March 4 rally at the Capitol was interrupted by protesters who tried to drown out speakers with air horns, deployed smoke bombs and got into skirmishes with rally-goers and security personnel. Afterward, five people including Linwood Kaine, U.S. Sen. Tim Kaines youngest son who goes by Woody were arrested. A sixth was cited for disorderly conduct.
Ramsey County Attorney John Choi has declined to prosecute the five for felony-level riot charges, saying there is insufficient evidence. Thus far, St. Paul attorney Samuel J. Clark has not prosecuted for misdemeanor-level riot charges.
Those decisions have rankled state Republicans and Trump supporters enough to organize Saturdays Protecting Civil Discourse rally.
