Rochester to host 2018 DFL state convention
Thousands of Democrats will pour into Rochester next summer to endorse the party's candidate for governor.
The Minnesota DFL Party announced Tuesday that the 2018 state convention will be June 1-3 at the newly remodeled Mayo Civic Center. Delegates will endorse candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general and Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
"The Minnesota DFL has a rich history of investing in our state's future, defending the civil and human rights of all citizens, and constantly working to move our state forward without leaving anyone behind. When the DFL convenes in Rochester in June of 2018, we will make critical endorsements that will directly affect the lives of Minnesota's families," said Minnesota DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin.
The Minnesota DFL Party had its last convention in Rochester in 2012. It attracted 2,700 delegates. Minnesota Republicans held their state convention in Rochester in 2014.
