ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) A tabby named Max has been playing a game of cat and mouse with some Minnesota college librarians.
The furtive feline has been sneaking into the Macalester College library in St. Paul when people open the door and has been seen scampering around the bookshelves.
The library put up a wanted-type poster asking patrons, "Please do not let in the cat."
The Star Tribune reports that the conundrum has caused a stir on Twitter and Reddit, where people have been posting Max-inspired artwork. Someone even made a library card for Max, who has been grounded by his owner over his naughty behavior.

Who wants a cat indoors that goes to the bathroom wherever it wants?

Having Trump in the library. He WILL pee and crap wherever he wants to!

I suppose they don't want the cat getting himself locked in at night, but it's nice to see the old place getting some fame for a cat. More about Max from the local news, here: http://www.startribune.com/st-paul-cat-won-t-stay-out-of-the-library-becomes-internet-sensation/461293973/
Thanks to an upcoming construction project on campus, Max has since become an indoor cat, only allowed out on a leash and harness. And hes not so happy about it.
He cries a lot, said Lipton, whose husband is a Macalester professor.
With Maxs newfound fame, Schommer and Genc Celik plan to write their own childrens book about the tabby. Updates about the book will be posted at letmaxin.com.
People know Max around campus, and now they know him even better, said Schommer, who spoke to the Star Tribune Friday while meeting with Lipton and Max for tea.
Indeed, Max has been a campus-wide topic of conversation for a while. His interest in academia knows no bounds. Hes been spotted everywhere from dorms to science buildings, trying to get a little pet and a way inside, said Mitch Carlson, a Macalester junior in international studies. He does prey on peoples sympathies just to get inside, Carlson said.
