There was a letter in the strib yesterday - not online, for some reason - signed by many, who want a Smith - Painter debate so they will know exactly where each stands on many issues.
Frankly, I don't know why any Democrat should vote for someone whose only claim to fame as a not a Republican is going after Trump. But, perhaps, if there is a debate, this point will be exposed.
And, by the way, there are five and six DFL candidates for the two senate seats.
