Considering moving to Missouri

Not out of choice but out of necessity due to my wife's chronic health conditions and no familial support here in Virginia. I've been acting as a primary care give while getting my Master's online but I'm almost done and ready to start looking for work but it is daunting consider she has to go to dialysis three times a week and she has a better chance for a kidney transplant out there than here.

All of her family is there so I would no longer be alone in caring for her but after growing up in Rhode island and living in San Diego and Hampton Roads I'm not sure how I feel about small town, semi-rural life where the closest large(ish) city is city is a 90 minute drive. Where I'm from that's leaving the state twice over. Not sure if I'll be happy there but am willing to do it for my wife.

and there are many great things here.

How you are able to adjust is really dependent upon a variety of factors. That said I would not be hasty in uprooting your lives to move here or anywhere. Look at all your options before doing so.
