Greitens push to cut Missouri regulations draws praise, ire

JEFFERSON CITY • Gov. Eric Greitens’ push to cut red tape in state government is generating some biting commentary from his fellow Missourians.

Since July 12, residents have been able to weigh in on which government regulations are burdensome via a special website titled “No Mo Red Tape.”

While some of the comments could lead to less bureaucracy and lower state fees, others are aimed squarely at the Republican chief executive and the policies he’s pushed in his first six months in office.

On a recent day, the site had collected 329 comments. Of those, 91 percent of the respondents said state government is making their life worse.
