A former Springfield restaurant owner's prison term just got five times longer.

Bruce Swisshelm, 70, of Battlefield, was resentenced Tuesday in connection with a $5.5 million bank fraud case.

He was sentenced to five years in federal prison without parole, in addition to being ordered to pay restitution.

Under a deal with prosecutors, Swisshelm pleaded guilty in July 2015 to one count each of bank fraud and money laundering. He admitted to submitting false documents to Great Southern Bank to get four commercial loans totaling $5.5 million in 2011.
