Missouri Task Force 1 responds to hurricane devastation in Mayfield, Kentucky

COLUMBIA — Forty-five members of Missouri Task Force 1 were in Kentucky Monday responding to the devastating tornados that struck the state on Friday evening.

Missouri Task Force 1 members arrived at 3:00 a.m. Monday at Murray State University, southeast of Mayfield, KY. They were able to get a couple of hours of rest before they went door to door searching for survivors in what is left of the town.

Missouri Task Force 1 spokesman Gale Blomenkamp said, “As far as the destruction goes, these men and women are trained to deal with that. Each person deals with that emotionally and personally on their own.”

Missouri’s search and rescue team prayed for success as they conducted wide-area searches and wellness checks throughout the town of Mayfield, with an estimated population of just under 10,000 people. Their deployment included 35 personnel, 10 ground support personnel, and more than 100,000 pounds of equipment.

but "hurricane devastation" in Kentucky? I guess that's what happens with climate change?

Not your headline Sherman, but surely someone noticed this before putting it on a news site?
