Man dead after exchanging gunfire with Sedalia Police

A Sedalia man has died after exchanging gunfire with Sedalia Police on Sunday evening.
According to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, around 6:18 p.m., the Sedalia Police Department received a call of a male armed with a gun at a residence in the 700 block of West Broadway. The suspect was also wanted for a felony parole violation and other warrants.
Officers arrived at the residence and after a white male matching the suspects description fled on foot, officers established a perimeter to contain the suspect. They attempted to make contact with the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Masen T. Moore, by giving verbal commands.
Moore fired shots at the police in the 900 block of West Broadway and an SPD officer fired his weapon and struck Moore.
