Montana voters return nearly half of absentee ballots ahead of election
MONTANA With the November 5 election approaching, excitement is building among voters in Montana who are eager to participate. Voter turnout is already high, as nearly 50% of absentee ballots have been returned.
According to the Montana Secretary of State website, as of Friday, October 25, at 10:45 p.m.,, data from the Montana Secretary of State's website indicates that approximately 243,341 absentee ballots have been returned, out of a total of 522,069 mailed out. This represents a 46.61% return rate statewide.
Some of Montana's largest counties have already reported significant returns. In Yellowstone County, 53.47% of ballots have been returned. Missoula County has 46.16% returned, Flathead County has 42.48%, and Gallatin County has 37.5%. That information is current as of Friday, October 25, at 10:45 p.m. but you can find up-to-date information from the Montana Secretary of State's absentee ballot count page.
For those registered as an absentee voter but who haven't requested their absentee ballot yet, there is time until 12:00 p.m. on November 4th to do so. Its crucial that ballots are received by 8:00 p.m. on election night, November 5th. Merely having a postmark by election day will not suffice.
