I've never seen one instance of privatization yielding positive results. The VA and many other agencies are there to provide a service while private companies are there to generate a profit for the owners and stockholders. Nearly all of those times the goals are mutually exclusive.
Good luck on your next trip to the VA hospital.

Military, prisons, social organs: unemployment, SSI, welfare.... some things go beyond profit and exist purely for the service itself.
