Take Time To Smile: Big Boy is coming back
By: KMTV Staff Posted at 11:23 AM, Jul 10, 2021 and last updated 12:23 PM, Jul 10, 2021
OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - As we end the week, we want to make sure you take time to smile.
Big Boy will be making a return! In 2019, Union Pacific's Big Boy locomotive impressed crowds lining up along the rails.
It's the world's largest steam locomotive and will be making its way through Nebraska next month.
It's set to leave Cheyenne, Wyoming on August 5. It will travel to Nebraska cities including North Platte, Kearney and Hastings.
Finally, the locomotive will stop in Fairbury on August 8 before it heads off to Kansas and Missouri.

After nearly Quadrupling the population of the tiny town of Strasburg, UP Big Boy 4014 slowly clears the crowds and highballs down the mainline for the last stretch of the day to Denver. We follow the train along Highway 36, passing hundreds of people along the way. As we near Bennett, we'll jump ahead of the train to go meet it within the heart of Denver. Rate. Comment. Subscribe. ENJOY!!! Copyright Nick Valdez Railroad Photography 2020.
