Nevada's largest county to have judges on standby on Election Day

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Clark County District Court will extend its hours of operation and assign three judges to handle any Election Day-related actions come November.

Chief Judge Jerry Wiese signed the order late last month “to ensure the fair and expeditious resolution of all election-related actions filed on Election Day,” documents said.

The three judges will handle any election matters as they come in from 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, until midnight on Nov. 6, Wiese ordered. After that, any election-related lawsuit or complaint will be randomly assigned.

Polls in Nevada closed at 7 p.m. or until the last person in line has voted. The Secretary of State’s Office does not begin posting results until all precincts are closed.
