State senator Aaron Ford announces bid for Nevada attorney general

Nevada state Senate Democratic leader Aaron Ford announced on Tuesday that he is running for attorney general next year.

Ford, in a statement posted on his campaign website, threw a thinly veiled barb at current Attorney General Adam Laxalt, who has served in the seat since 2014 but is expected to vacate the seat and run for governor in 2018.

Ford, D-Las Vegas, said in his statement that he will “work to keep Nevadans safe, strengthen the middle class and protect our families.”
