2 cops caught on video stealing bicycles, N.J. authorities say

Two officers from the Lower Township Police Department were accused of stealing bicycles in Cape May City, New Jersey, this month, authorities said. Eric Campbell, 28 and Austin Craig, 28, both of Lower Township, were issued summonses for theft, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, which is handling the investigation, announced Tuesday.

Video surveillance obtained by the Cape May Police Department showed two men removing bicycles from the area of Decatur Street in Cape May City, the office said.

The men were later identified as Campbell and Craig, who are both employed as patrolmen for the Lower Township Police Department, officials said. No other details were released.

A spokesperson for the department could not immediately be reached for comment and no attorneys representing the officers were listed by the office.
