Mon.: Rt 3 Fireballs; Toxic Chemical Truck Explosion. Fatality.

Yesterday I was out and around fairly early and I saw three firetrucks go past me on a major street. This is fairly rare. I knew something was up because I heard sirens ongoing for the next four or five hours. This is what it was, and the accident happened on Rt 3 near Grove Street.

Note: the guy starts out with "Oh my goodness and rapidly accelerates to a number of 4-letter words per second.

However, here is additional info I turned up from a guy who monitors radios:

RT 3 at Grove Street. Truck crashed into the barrier wall, exploded, went through the wall. Truck carrying explosive and hazardous materials. Explosions reported. Gas on fire into the sewer system. Natural gas line compromised and on fire. Hydrants on new section of highway reported not working.

They still have a lane closure today and are continuing the cleanup.

In one of the videos, I think the one from CBS, you will even see houses with the siding or paint melted off of them.

That had to be horrifying--stuck in traffic, toxic fumes coming at you.
