Murphy Met with Trump Last Weekend

Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy met with former President Donald Trump at Trump’s Bedminster golf course on Saturday, a week after the assassination attempt on the ex-president and a day before President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, Murphy’s office confirmed.
The Washington Post, citing anonymous sources, was the first to report Monday afternoon about the meeting, saying Murphy spoke with Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, about the recent shooting, among other topics, including Biden and the race for the White House.
Murphy visited the Somerset County club, where Trump lives part of the year, with his wife, First Lady Tammy Murphy, the governor’s office said.
“Governor Murphy and the First Lady reached out to former President Trump immediately after last weekend’s assassination attempt to say that they were keeping him in their prayers. While the former President was recuperating at his residence in New Jersey, they had an opportunity to wish him well in person this past Saturday,” Murphy spokesman Mahen Gunaratna said in a statement.

I can't imagine that our governor has much spare time. In fact, during our recent AFT Teacher's Convention, he showed up to complement his wife, who was speaking to us. Murphy showed up in jeans. It looked very spontaneous.
With little time, why would he meet with trump?
True, trump might be angling to get his liquor licences back, but why would Murphy go to him if that's the purpose?
Or maybe he's just fishing for information.
