3 on the Ballot for Town of Newton Council Seats

NEWTON, NJ – Three names will be on the November ballot for two town council positions, incumbent and current mayor John-Paul Couce, incumbent, local resident Ludmilla Mecaj and council member Michelle Teets.

Ballot positions will be drawn on Thursday at 3 p.m. in council chambers.

Couce and Teets are asking voters for a second 4-year term. Mecaj has put her name on the ballot in each town council election since 2018.

Newton is a non-partisan Faulkner form of government in which voters elect members to four-year positions, in staggered terms. The mayor and deputy mayor are selected by the town council members from among their ranks. The manager is the chief executive and administrative official of the town.
