Promise the judge you'll be nice

I heard on tonight's local news that cops stopped a California driver here in New Mexico and charged him with possession of 10 pounds of marijuana with intent to sell.

The judge let him walk,
on his own recognizance,
no bond, no bail,
no ankle bracelet,
with him promising to show up for any future court appearances.

I had to go to court one time and before I went, I got my hair cut, a banker's trim, and did a neat shave of my beard. Because, you know, impressions can make a difference. Went to the courtroom, the judge walked in, and as he was sitting down, I noticed he had a huge ponytail rubber banded and tucked down inside his robe. Wasted that $40 haircut.
