Rep. Ray Lujan raises $1.1M in bid for Senate seat

U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján's decision not to accept corporate Political Action Committee money has not limited his ability to raise funds in his bid for the U.S. Senate.

His campaign said the congressman has raised more than $1.1 million since his announcement that he would seek the seat held by fellow Democrat Tom Udall, who is not seeking a third term in 2020. And it gives him a large advantage over his Democratic rival, New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver.

Her campaign said she has raised $222,000 in the eight weeks since she announced her candidacy.

Toulouse Oliver said in a release that she expected to be outraised by her opponent.
