I recall hearing that idea, but I am unaware what state, if any, rolls that way. The affidavits are counted unless they are deemed invalid.

6. Yea generally if the vote tally is separated by 50,000 votes and 100 special ballots

are found, they they usually do not take the time as it will not really change the outcome.
