State lawmakers again trying to remove Trump name from park
ALBANY, N.Y. — Lawmakers in the Democrat-controlled New York Legislature are making another attempt to have President Donald Trump's name removed from a defunct state park.
Sen. Brad Hoylman, of Manhattan, and Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, of Queens, have introduced legislation that would allow the state parks commissioner to give Donald J. Trump State Park a different name.
In 2006, Trump donated undeveloped land straddling the Putnam-Westchester county border north of New York City to the state for a park. The park was one of dozens closed by the state four years later amid a budget crisis.
The park never reopened and isn't included on the state's official state park list.

He bought the land to build a golf course, but the neighbors stopped him, so he donated the land to the state as a park. No doubt he took a deduction bigger than the 2 million he paid for it.
When the state wouldn't take proper care of it (he donated no money for upkeep) he wanted it back. NY told him to shove it.
I also recall that it was discussed on The Rachel Maddow Show and they appraised the land at the higher value for the writeoff. I think that the correct word to describe the situation is fraud.
