Climate change protesters pour fake blood on Wall Street Charging Bull, almost 100 arrested blocking

Fed-up climate change protesters poured fake blood on the iconic Wall Street Charging Bull statue Monday and blocked traffic nearby, leading to almost 100 arrests.

Cops say three demonstrators were responsible for defacing the famed statue with red paint around 10:30 a.m. One of them, Columbia student Arthur Boyle, 24, was arrested. The other two fled and have not been caught.

Protester Kyle Pritz, 30, said more dramatic action has become a necessity.

“The democratic means no longer work," he said. "We have called our congresspeople, we have voted, we have marched in the streets. Nothing is working.”

1. The frustration...

While I support protests, it is frustrating to see that it does little good.

Why, though? Well, we are dealing with a many-headed Hydra, the MIC. The major thrust of the MIC began after WWII. It really dug its heels in in the 50s and 60s. The response to the protests and radical reactions was taken care of starting with the Reagan Era and has continued to this day and we were warned. The amount of control and power has increased and it is firmly established and it is not a mere conspiracy theory, it is ingrained in the system itself. So, it is not about some plot to takeover, how would you take over when the Hydra is fundamental to the system itself?

I support and applaud those who do make their voices heard and stand up to the system's heads, but therein is the problem. You can yell at one and scream at the top of your lungs, but that can be frustrating, especially if you don't know what you are really up against. In fact, it can be useful to have energy and effort directed in that way in order to channel attention and activity.

There is nothing worse than a semblence of democracy; a hollow shell or facade. Maybe that is a good place to focus. When you compare what the people want when polls indicate it and then see the response and results, they come up wanting and something is really amiss. It is puzzling until you grasp the bigger picture and the motivations.

So, our candidates will most likely approach that in various ways and we need a STRONG, RESILIENT struggle for democracy itself, which will be, ultimately about the dangerous task of actually calling out and dealing with the power and control that has already been usurped by the MIC. I don't want ruffle any partisan feathers, but I will say that this goes deeper than partisan politics. We struggle and react to Right vs. Left, but it comes down to the Oligarchy vs. democracy and, considering the outcome, the wedges and distractions play into what used to be called a "class war". We are losing that one.

Keep an eye on other countries and how this idea compares to them, how it is progressing and the global extent of it. We are not immune and this Administration is playing right along. You can see that, right?
