NYC boosts COVID testing in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, following spike in cases
The city conducted a blitz of COVID tests in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, following a spike in cases there, Mayor de Blasio said Monday, though he insisted the recent uptick didnt mark a dreaded coronavirus cluster.
The city administered 5,200 tests at Sunset Park in the last few weeks, Hizzoner said at a press conference, adding that almost 800 of them happened at mobile testing vans.
Out of the tests, 328 have back positive so far, 112 of them having been for Sunset Park residents, according to the mayors office. Additional test results are pending, the office noted.
We do not see a cluster situation at this point in Sunset Park based on the information weve gleaned over the last few days from this intensive testing, de Blasio said. We do see individual households with specific problems.
