SARATOGA SPRINGS Professor David Peterson says Skidmore College has decided not to discipline him after his decision to check out a pro-police rally brought demands that he be fired.
That's a refreshing bit of sanity in this increasingly irrational world, I suppose, although the email notifying Peterson of the good news wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement of free speech and the First Amendment. It said merely Skidmore's administration did not feel Peterson was guilty of anything that "rose to the level of policy violations."
The art professor will not, therefore, be punished for being inquisitive.

They watched supporters trade barbs with counter-protesters for about 20 minutes before leaving Congress Park to get dinner.
