From the shores of the Outer Banks through the farms and cities of the central Piedmont, to the western Appalachian Mountains, here are a few glimpses of the landscape of North Carolina and some of the wildlife and people calling it home.

2. North Carolina is such a pretty state. We lived in Raleigh for 5 years when I was a kid. I love NC

beaches and mountains. Hopefully, we'll see a bit more blue this year.

3. We lived there five years

in Murphy on the west end. Beautiful country, gorgeous mountains. But never quite felt comfortable. We were yankees and these folks were the people that hid the Atlanta Bomber for five years. And they did, some admitted it. We left.

It makes me so happy to see positive posts about our home state in this group. I don't know if you saw the pinned post with demographics but our state population ranking is something many aren't aware of and it's rapidly changing. I am a fifth generation native by birth but I love the broad variety of transplants that have chosen to make The Old North State home. It makes us so interesting and more beautiful, at least to me.
