Kalida woman pleads guilty to bank fraud
The owner of a Putnam County payroll and accounting firm has pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges for stealing at least $914,000 from clients in northwest and central Ohio.
Jennifer Edelbrock, 51, of Kalida, Ohio, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Toledo to three counts of bank fraud, according to court documents. She was originally indicted on seven counts.
She operated Edelbrock Enterprises LLC, which also did business as Edelbrock-Reitz LLC in Delphos.
Federal prosecutors say she transferred funds from clients bank accounts to All Season Lawn and Recreation LLC, which her husband owned. Edelbrock is also accused of taking money she was supposed to hold in trust to pay her clients payroll expenses, concealing delinquency notices, and manipulating clients payroll obligations by adding amounts to the employer responsibility for taxes beyond what they owed.
