4. I've never understood this "flags on pickups" thing. The only ones I've seen are Trumpers and ISIS.

but they are definitely first cousins: Adherents to middle eastern religions (yes, Christianity is middle eastern with Jesus, a brown skin Palestinian Jew as its focus); devotion to authoritarian leaders; a demonstrated desire to control women; a desire to recreate a perceived glorious past; opposition to modernity (except for the cellphones); opposition to higher education and the primacy of facts and lines of evidence; and much more.

It's interesting how so many of the young evangelical men in my area were given middle eastern names like Joshua, Micah, Jacob, Caleb, Jared. They have all been basted in middle eastern traditions, ideology and mythology since birth but they can't stand those Muslims with whom they have so much in common.

13. They are swarming...I've noticed more lately.

Not the massive caravan style but even with yard signs...Trump signs staying in place...Something is brewing...they are fixed on following Trump like the South never really surrendered after the civil war...I'll keep my eyes looking for disruptors.
