Replacement senior services levy expected to appear on Trumbull County ballots

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – In Trumbull County, it appears as if a replacement senior services levy will be headed to the voters after commissioners held a special meeting Thursday afternoon.

Up against next week’s election filing deadline, commissioners Denny Malloy and Mauro Cantalamessa voted to adopt a resolution in a 2-0 vote, placing a .75-mill replacement senior services levy on the November ballot.

“I felt this is important enough, we couldn’t let this slide,” Malloy said.

Senior levy dollars go toward services including transportation, homemaker and personal care, home-delivered meals, adult daycare, and senior centers.

“Communities are judged by how they take care of their most vulnerable, and Trumbull County has a rich history of taking care of our seniors and we’re going to continue to do just that,” Cantalamessa said.
