Republicans will know they've been in a fight, new Tulsa County Democratic Party Chairwoman Kimberly Fobbs says

Being a Democrat in Tulsa County is not easy.

Registered Democrats are outnumbered almost two-to-one countywide, and Democratic candidates are underdogs at just about every level above a few legislative districts.

So if being a Democrat in Tulsa County is tough, being the chief Tulsa County Democrat is even tougher. Which is one reason not many people want the job.

“I don’t think I did decide I wanted to be county chairwoman,” said Kimberly Fobbs, who took over the top spot in the county party last spring. “It’s kind of a shock, really.”

Fobbs said she reluctantly agreed to take the job if no one else would.
