Bridenstine moves to repeal federal income tax

WASHINGTON -- First District Rep. Jim Bridenstine has filed legislation that could lead to repeal of the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution -- the amendment enabling the current federal income tax.

"The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees ‘The right of people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures,' " Bridenstine said. "The 16th Amendment effectively negates the Fourth Amendment. The 16th Amendment should be repealed, and the IRS should be eliminated."

Until elected crazies from Texas, Florida, Virginia, etc., do something equally crazy. There are more than enough of them to go around.

That's the one thing Republicans do accomplish: they get more back for their states, although it usually goes to the wealthy and corporations because they're so much more deserving of the money than the people.

Not talking about corporate welfare though...Oklahoma is being directly funded BY Blue states....in other words Oklahoma is just another money grubbing state that likes to facetiously claim to hate taxation...

It's not limited to just red states.

Yes, Bridenstine is a hypocrite as well as incredibly stupid. Just remember, not everyone in Oklahoma is a Republican, there are many progressives here as well fighting to make changes.

reliant on the rest of the country for its very survival. And I come from South Carolina Andy! It's exactly what I tell my friends from back home....They live in a Welfare state and not the way they think....then I explain it to them. But I definitely wouldn't deny that with a response of ..."well there are lots of Liberals there"

I never denied that Oklahoma takes in more than it gives. However, it is wrong to dismiss Oklahoma as a red wasteland when there are fellow Democrats in the state fighting to turn things around.

Not everyone in Oklahoma is oblivious to what's going on.

Do you think those we bombed in Iraq are telling themselves..."Well only SOME Americans are responsible"? This "there are some Liberals here too" doesn't fly with me....I am FROM a very red state. Are you saying they get a pass if even ONE Liberal lives there? What is your threshold? How many Liberals have to live there to get said "pass"?

In every one of those states, there are Democrats working hard to make things change.

Your attitude is very poor, and fortunately not everyone feels as you do. If you don't like Oklahoma, please feel free to avoid this group in the future because your comments are not supportive of your fellow Democrats who do indeed live here.

And most would agree it's not wise for Democrats to just give up on red states. I'm glad that you escaped, but that isn't realistic nor is it possible for everyone.

If not this, then they'd have to vote to repeal Obamacare again. Huge waste of time and taxpayer money, but of course there aren't any real, serious issues facing the country at this time...

Bridenstine's knowledge of government and laws is very limited. His Facebook page is full of insults and lies directed at President Obama and Democrats. He throws out scraps for consumption by his hateful, low information followers.

None of them seem aware of the fact that Bridenstine and people like him are what's wrong with government today.
