I voted against him in the primary but for him in the general because Tootsie was/is a tea bagging idiot.

(19,537 posts)... to retake congress with! That way, the average citizen will notice a difference if we can regain power again when the Democrats really work for people like they used to before the young generations were even born. They won't look like the same corporate slaves that the Republicans are and have people feel that government is useless and be steered in to working against their interests by becoming Libertarians and tearing down the government the way the oligarchs want them to!
I'm upset with my old college town and state too! First they replace a great senator in Tom Harkin with a Bachmann like dingbat in Joni Ernst. And now "Democrat" Loebsack who's the Iowa city congressional rep is behaving just like Shrader is with these two votes too.

(22,000 posts)In the past I had voted for him, but this time I left my ballot blank for both the primary and GE. There was no question he was going to be reelected by a large margin without even breaking a sweat. I live overseas and my voter registration is in Tillimook, which doesn't give me much choice in the matter.
I too would like to see someone more progressive in that seat, but I think we are stuck with him for a long while.
