... Air quality alert in effect until 5 PM PDT Sunday...
Oregon department of environmental quality has issued an air quality
alert... in effect until 5 PM PDT Sunday.
A smoke air quality alert has been issued. Wildfires burning in the
region combined with forecasted conditions has caused air quality
to reach unhealthy levels. Air quality may briefly reach very
unhealthy levels late tonight into Sunday morning.
Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes... runny nose... aggravate
heart and lung diseases... and aggravate other serious health
problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it
is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung
condition.

(5,376 posts)It's awful over here in Central Oregon, too. We're inundated with smoke from the Grant County ever-growing fire, the County Line 2 (Warm Springs) fire north of here, and probably the WA and NE OR fires as well. Plus those west and south of here, no doubt. Too bad we can't stop the fumes at the border! I heard on NPR this morning that Portland was next on the hit list. Not only distressing but very sad for our beautiful state.
Take care and stay well. As my mother used to say, this too shall pass.
Peace.

I did hear a news person mention the olden days of the field burning...my gosh forgot about that but I do remember that smoke.
