(4,205 posts)I live near there now and do most of my shopping etc there. it is pretty low income for sure...Great place though I really enjoy it...

(22,000 posts)Jackson County is quite a bit more liberal (of course it is also a lot bigger city). In 2008, Barack Obama actually won Jackson County. In 2012, it went the other way. I think like lots of places high voter turnout helped him in places that have been traditionally red.
