I asked for suggestions. Here's what we did:
Voodoo Donuts
Powell's books
walked along the river
Pok Pok
drove all over creation
Base Camp Brewing (and a Nepalese food truck with dumplings)
Rogue Brewing
International Rose Test garden (sadly only a couple of roses this early)
Pittock Mansion
Deschutes Brewing
Baerlic Brewing
Dan & Louis Oyster bar
Stumptown Coffee Roasters
and some shopping
A good time was had by all. Thanks again for the suggestions.

(5,376 posts)I don't live in Portland, but have been an "Oregonian" for almost 50 years. (Spouse smuggled me across the border from Washington State, but he's a native, so figured I was legal.) I've lived all over the state, but the years near Portland were among the most fun and interesting. So far I've missed Voodoo Donuts but some day I'll get there! Congrats on making the most of your "Portland Saga". Hope you can make it back some day, and check out some of the other fantastic scenery and events in our awesome state. You're always welcome here!
Cheers!

(2,178 posts)had a great trip here! That is a lot to pack in for a day and a half. Isn't Powell's the best? I love that place.
