In light of the Ryan marathon and Colorado 14er's brouhaha...

I though I'd remind Oregonians that our fellow Oregonian, Hal Koerner, from Ashland, won the Hardrock 100 in July this year, with the third fastest time ever, 24:50:13.

What's Hardrock:

Four legs, linking the Lake City, Ouray, Telluride, and Silverton areas. The finish is in Silverton, the same location as the start. The course is 100 miles long, has a cumulative vertical gain of 33,992 feet of climb and 33,992 feet of descent for a total elevation change of 67,984 feet, and takes place at an average elevation of about 11,000 feet. The high point is 14,048 feet.

Oregon has many great runners who have tackled Hardrock.

I don't run or climb but I've been over that route many times,on a motorcycle.That's an all day ride,as in 8-10 hours.Of course,that's with a few gas/beer/burger stops...
