Tragic Boat Capsizing Claims Life Of Well-Known Local Couple

Kyle and Amber Novelli perished early this morning when their fishing boat capsized near the South Jetty

At approximately 3 a.m. this morning (June 29), first responders from Siuslaw Valley Fire & Rescue and Western Lane Ambulance, were deployed to help the U.S. Coast Guard search for three individuals whose fishing boat capsized near the mouth of the Siuslaw River not far from the South Jetty.

Those have taken many. I grew up along the ocean and heard, locally, of more than one unfortunate incident that turned out to be a giant wave. Sad situation.
