Penn State calls absurd a claim that it manipulated students hazing death to acquire fraternity house
WILLIAMSPORT Penn State calls reckless and irresponsible the allegation it manipulated the hazing death Timothy Piazza so it could acquire the on-campus Beta Theta Pi fraternity house property.

The document was filed in support of Penn States motion to dismiss the complaint against it and three officials by the property owner, Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Beta Theta Pi Inc.
The university on March 30, 2017, permanently banned the fraternity, saying the investigation into Piazza death uncovered a pattern of illegal activity, hazing and illegal drug use.
