Dorney Park owner rejects $4 billion takeover offer from Six Flags: report

Ohio-based Cedar Fair, the owner of Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, has rejected a $4 billion cash-and-stock offer from Six Flags as inadequate, according to a report from Reuters, which cited people familiar with the matter.

Michael Russell, Cedar Fair’s investor relations director, declined to comment on the story, adding company policy does not permit him to speak on “rumors and speculation in the market.”

“Please know that everyone here at Cedar Fair is focused on wrapping up a strong 2019 season and building upon our exciting plans for 2020,” Russell said.

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township, Pa., is part of Cedar Fair’s stable of 11 amusement parks, four outdoor water parks and an indoor water park in several U.S. states and Toronto.
