Related: About this forumPublic pressure is getting to Toomey re: witnesses
Just heard on MSNBC that Toomey's floating a 1 for 1 witness exchange. Up to now, Toomey's been totally silent on the matter. Toomey's infamous for keeping his finger to the wind, so we know which way his constituents are moving now.
If you can, call any of Toomey's offices and express your views. Today, I called every office until I got a live person on the line (in Philadelphia!) to whom I could pass along my comments. If you've already called, thanks and don't be shy about calling again.

(52,241 posts)I live in Blue state so I googled Zillow addresses for legit places in case I was asked if I lived in a specific senator's state. PA was the only one that I already had an address for since I grew up there.

(9,171 posts)You know what's funny, after a few dozen calls yesterday to Toomey, I called Bob Casey's office, got through to an actual person on the 3rd ring.
Toomey's hiding from the public, Casey isn't. No full mailbox, no automated answering machine for the Dem. No doubt there are repug callers to Casey, but the staff is there to get input from the constituency.
If people were telling Toomey what he wanted to hear, he'd be letting them talk to him. He's getting swamped by people who are telling him to do the right thing.

(16,303 posts)I haven't been able to get through to Toomey's Pgh or DC office until I finally got a live staffer by calling his Philadelphia office. Contrast that to Sen Casey where, except for once, I spoke to actual staffers no matter what office I call.
Toomey's been hiding for awhile by not only not answering the phone, but not holding in person town halls either. What a coward!

(9,171 posts)Sen Casey's people listen to input, and that's despite the fact that the people on their side are so much less pleasant, so often, in what they say and how they say things, to people they disagree with.
I bit and left toomey one message, in addition to the live call, but also encountered 'mailbox full' quite a few times.
