How to get a Real ID: Here's what to do, which documents you need and where to go

While Real ID enforcement for Pennsylvania and other states is just months away, many are still wondering how to get the ID cards, or if they even need one at all.

PennDOT is adamant that not everyone has to get a Real ID, but if you plan to fly frequently or go into a federal government building, it may be a benefit.

The Real ID stems from a law enacted in 2005 that tries to federally standardize identity documents.
