Man rips face mask off employee at beer store: 'You don't need that'

Marni Magaro was unloading cases of beer Monday night in Enola when two customers walked into the cooler, looking for the coldest brew they could find.

Magaro, 21, was wearing a mask to protect against COVID-19, but the men were not, despite a sign on the door at Enola Beer and Soda, at 50 E. Shady Lane, saying masks are mandatory.

Magaro didn’t mention the lack of masks as the men asked questions about the beer she had in stock while standing just a foot or two away. She felt uncomfortable and cornered, so she maneuvered her way out, pointed to some Miller Lite, and started to walk away.

That’s when one of the men surprised her by grabbing the front of her face mask.

“Take that (expletive) off,” the man said as he pulled the mask over her head, taking her eyeglass and hat with it. “You don’t need that. This is all (expletive) anyway.”

Magaro, who happened to be alone at the store in that moment, didn’t want to escalate the situation.

She said nothing until she reached the front counter behind a wall of plexiglass to ring up their purchase.

“In the moment, I was freaked out,” she said. “I couldn’t believe the audacity.”

....

Magaro shared the information with police, so they could have the information for their records, but she didn’t want to pursue criminal action. She also shared the video on Facebook, but edited it to try to avoid identifying the offender. She said she doesn’t want an internet mob to go after him. Instead, she wants to spread the word about respecting people’s decisions to wear masks.

The owners decided the man should be permanently barred from the store.

Not sure if its fair to post the employees name and workplace while not identifying the person who did it. Guess we'll see what trolls come out.

Here’s another example of “I ain’t wearin no mask” idiots tormenting store employees.

Women have no excuse to not be prepared. They've seen enough betrayed trust to know by now that girls are badly trained to trust men, but they must sharpen their awareness in any public setting.

White House issues memo requiring staff to wear masks in West Wing, CNBC, 5/11/20
... The directive from the White House management office was laid out in a memo to staffers Monday afternoon, NBC reported. ... The memo also asked staff members to avoid visiting the West Wing, where the Oval Office is located, unless it is necessary, the sources told NBC.

Something to keep in mind when some fuckhead harasses you about wearing a mask -- if they're so ineffective or the Covid19 is just a hoax, or if only wimps or “Democrat Islamo-Maoists" wear them, then ask the fuckhead why does your fearless leader require everyone near him to wear a mask? Why is he wimpifying his staff -- and by extension himself?

More like jumping over the barriers at a zoo to get to the tiger. The barriers are there to protect you, not the tiger. Getting past the barrier isn't selfish, but it sure is stupid.

She's worried about the douchebag who assaulted her and endangered her life. Meanwhile her name and work location is public so an internet mob of COVIDiots might go after her because of MAGA.

Dude is probably thinking he did nothing wrong.

I don't know whether the store had a video camera, but most/many do, especially package stores. Maybe she needs the job more than she values her safety, but the behavior of these guys was physically threatening, especially since she was working alone in the store at the time. These Neanderthals were exhibiting behaviors that, as a woman, would have made me worried about sexual assault. It was a borderline encounter, and I wouldn't have tolerated it. I would have reported them and quit that damned job.
