Bad news, Lehigh Valley, Jim Cantore set to be in Allentown for winter storm
Well, it looks like the Lehigh Valley is sure in trouble now.
The Weather Channels own agent of doom, otherwise known as Jim Cantore, appears to be headed straight for Allentown. He is scheduled be in town Wednesday for live coverage of the expected winter storm, according to a news release.
The meteorologist, a veteran of major weather events from tropical storms to blizzards, is widely known as the person you dont want to come to your town during a major storm. During Hurricane Delta in October, an overhead highway sign welcomed the meteorologist to New Orleans with this message, Jim Cantore, Stay Home!
Right now, the Lehigh Valley is set to face some of the most extreme impacts from the storm, according to the National Weather Service, with as much as 20 inches of snow and wind gusts of up to 35 mph possible. However, Empire Weather, which provides localized forecasts for The Morning Call, is projecting a much lower, though still significant, accumulation of 8-16 inches of snow.
