Pennsylvania church treasurer stole $150,000, spent it on porn, cops say
He found some exxxcess funds.
A Pennsylvania church treasurer stole $150,000 of the church’s money and spent it on porn, police said.
Cops said Glenn Yothers, 56, swiped the money from St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Latrobe, about 30 miles southeast of downtown Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.
Investigators said Yothers transferred the money to his personal account and then spent it on a site called “Flirt For Free,” which was evidently not free, according to the Tribune-Review.
Yothers admitted to stealing the money and told police he was lonely at home during the day while his wife worked, the paper reported. Other church members became suspicious after the congregation’s utilities were shut off in 2019.

Methinks maybe he was paying for "private" lessons. 
I think this was the WPXI channel 11 news I had on. They interviewed this guy and he said he felt sorry for the online sex workers and he "donated" money to the website in order to "help" them. He felt he was making charitable donations to the porn website in order to help the workers. (!)
This is either a very clever defense concocted by his lawyer, or else it's the silliest reason for stealing church funds that anyone has ever heard. This guy needs to be in jail, and probably be divorced and lose his house too.
