Related: About this forumGov Wolf vetos GOP legislature's new Congressional districts map
https://www.post-gazette.com/news/politics-state/2022/01/26/Wolf-vetoes-congressional-map-sent-to-him-by-Republicans/stories/202201260158Jan 24th was the deadline set by the State Supreme Court for the Gov and state legislature to agree on a new map. PA lost a seat after the 2020 Census and is going from 18 CDs to 17 CDs. The R led legislature drew a map that broke down as 8D-8R-1 toss up; Wolf's map was 9D-8R. Our current Reps are 9D, 9R.
Since the governor and state legislature couldn't agree, the State Supreme Court will now draw the maps. The partisan breakdown will probably be the same roughly equal partisan split, but the CDs will much more compact and cleaner.
The new legislative maps should also be approved soon, too. The new state house map undoes a good bit of the gerry-mandering mischief the GOP has been doing for the past several decades and gives Dems a chance to flip the state house although the margin of control would likely be narrow if they do. But the maps do reflect the state's population shift from west to east and overall Dem partisan lean. Of course, the Rs aren't happy. The new state senate districts are uncontroversial.

Panel of judges, in absence of true map commission, no politicians, is way to go by default.

Judges r trusted with everything, even your very life in some states
.can trust with a map and drawing lines I think.
Politicians map drawing for elections, to serve their own interests, is a crime against democracy happening in broad daylight on 5th avenue.

drawing and imposing its own map after the same stalemate between Wolf and the state legislature in 2018 after the court tossed the old map as unconstitutional.

case from Commonwealth Court and will now decide the new congressional map. To me, Wolf's map looks like the tightest configuration and produces a 9D-8R advantage.
