Related: About this forumYard sign report from Butler County
Butler County has a +27% GOP voter registration advantage. I have never seen so many signs for Democratic candidates (Josh Shapiro for governor, John Fetterman for Senate, and Dan Pastore for Congress-HoR) in Butler County in my life. There are locations where I cannot remember seeing any Democratic signs that now have them and that continues to grow. The GOP signs are in the normal places. People, there is no energy for the GOP and it is the exact opposite for the Democratic candidates in Pennsylvania. I don't care what the polls say the eye test, even though yard signs don't vote, point to a Democratic tsunami especially for Shapiro and possibly for Fetterman.

(25,231 posts)yard signs are a better indicator. I am in deep red Magat country in central Pa. Jefferson county, and I also see Fetterman/Shapiro signs where I never saw them before. In the beginning of the election season there were no Oz signs but within the past month they have appeared.

(1,013 posts)Republicans are supporting the GOP candidates because they have an R beside their name. That's it.

(50,746 posts)Our area is slightly more GOP than Dem with independents close behind. Very few GOP signs anywhere here. Lots of local and national Dem signs.
Lets hope that translates into votes.
edit...I'm in Iowa

(9,951 posts)Usually we have a ton of Republican Yard Signs in our neighborhood, and have for 40 years.......
But strangely, none in the 2020 election for Trump/Pence or for any other Republican Candidate.
I guess they all were ashamed? of their votes that put him in office in 2016?????

(3,368 posts)The properties owned by the Rs in the townships are displaying what one would expect. I recall that, back in 2016 AFTER the R candidate won, R property owners in New Sewickey Township heading into Cranberry Township planted R signs and let them remain for weeks.

(16,296 posts)I just can't wrap my head around how they even tolerate that creep Oz from another state - not the Pa I grew up in

(1,013 posts)There is zero enthusiasm for him except among hardcore Republicans. The only people showing up to his 'rallies' are the hardcore GOP base. He had a 'rally' at a restaurant in Cranberry Township in Butler County and the only people in attendance were the hardcore GOPers in Butler County and Senator Tom Cotton for some reason. The reason anyone is voting for him is because of the R beside his name. That's it.

(17,432 posts)Usually we see yard after yard with red signage. This year it seems only the hard core have them out.
This is in mass. We have a red meat ballot initiative that would repeal a new law that allows immigrants to get drivers licenses. It's a public safety bill.
There are a few signs to stop the "illegal immigrants" from driving, but not what I would expect. When scott brown ran the first time, signs were everywhere.
Probably doesn't mean anything. But at least it's fewer eye soores to look at.

(130 posts)Lots of vote no signs. You would have to be motivated to go get one, they were not passing them out at church. The polls had the pro lifers winning, but that did not happen.

(9,969 posts)To give GQP a background for them screaming stolen elections. That is all. WHEN they lose they will point to the polls they lead, and scream no way they could lose by double digits. Rigged. Will never concede. While General Bannon rants to his soldiers to go kill dems. As he hides his fat epidermal challenged ass way away from gunfire. Just wait until THIS January transfer of power. Guns will be allowed. More MTG planted bombs, probably a Putin/trump approved tactical nuke. We got em, why cant we use them. Happy Christmas, Merry New Year to all.

(113,130 posts)and quite possibly better than any formal poll because anyone willing to pay a few bucks for a yard sign is going to vote because they're aware and engaged.
I'm in NM and I went to a doctor appointment in a town to the northwest and didn't see a single sign anywhere. I'm taking that as a sign of maintaining the people we've got (Governor Lujan-Grisham has been wonderful, as has Rep. Melanie Stansbury). People here do vote and they're voting in large numbers, poll workers told me they had a line across a large parking lot early in the day and expected another one when people started to get off work. That's my metric, right there.
My neighbors weren't sure about me, an old person who was financially independent, but I told one of them if I ever tried to vote for a Republican my right arm would hop off and try to beat some sense into me. My 'hood is navy blue.

(5,948 posts)to see all of the Trump-Pence signs, especially in the rural areas. My regular, daily commute was on US 19, from Cranberry Township to I-80 near Mercer and the further north you got, the worse it was. I'd be curious to see where the Democratic yard signs are today.
We lived in a four-plex in Cranberry Township and all of our neighbors decided we would put Clinton signs up in the yard. We regularly had to replace them, and the dogs loved going for walks to scoop up some of the raw egg that occasionally plastered them. How mature was that? We moved in 2018, but our neighbors sent a picture of the yard with the Biden signs from 2020 and said there were a few more scattered in the neighborhood.

(1,013 posts)If you were to drive throughout Cranberry Township now you would notice a real change in the yard signs. I can't say I have driven throughout the entire township but on the roads I have traveled on I would say it is about 50-50 for all Democratic-Republican signs believe it or not.
There is zero enthusiasm for most Republican candidates, especially Mastriano for governor and Oz for Senate. I don't want to make this prediction but this election might shift many areas back to their former Democratic glory and chip away at Republican strongholds like Butler County.

(3,479 posts)But I am worried they will go back to instincts to pull the lever for the R's when the curtain is pulled. Hope I am wrong on this though!!

(1,013 posts)Some years the GOP-to-Democratic yard sign ratio might be 5-1 in my area and that is not an exaggeration.

(25,231 posts)the Magats need to keep the polls close because when Oz loses they are going to claim fraud in Philadelphia. They expect to lose, but they won't concede they lost. They are telling us they are going to claim fraud before the election even happens.
